Christmas Day

'Twas The Night Before Christmas!

Christmas has come again! I am not a fan of winter, but I think a little snow would have helped with the spirit. We all attended four o'clock mass Christmas Eve which was lovely and put the real meaning of it all into perspective for me. However, it was a little hard on the boys to sit patiently. I thought Connor was going to have a meltdown coming on the end (too much anticipation!). After mass we headed home to finish getting ready for our annual Christmas Eve family gathering at our house. It was a little quieter this year than others due to many people being sick. It just wasn't the same; we missed you. Afterwards the boys proceeded to get Santa's snack ready, complete with carrots for the reindeer. Then it was the traditional bedtime story of "The Night Before Christmas" and off to bed so we would be ready for good ol' St Nick! Chandler is always the first one up and he was at my bedside by 8:30. I convinced him to wait with me, and fifteen minutes later Connor was and ready for some serious ripp'in into presents. We had a wonderful day at home playing, putting batteries in things and trying them out. We later headed out to Summerville to my Sister Shelley and her husband Jody's house for a delicious turkey dinner. Thank you Shelley & Jody! We rolled away from the table, helped clean up, played a few games, and headed home in an attempt to tuck the boys in a little earlier than the night before. Whew! The house is now quiet at the end of the day, the tranquility of the Christmas tree lights my living room, and I am at peace... We did it... We survived another Christmas, and all is well."
